I have been a travel counselor since 1981. When I began my career in travel, you were required by the state to take and pass a test to become a "travel agent".  Unfortunately that requirement no longer exists. 

 The travel industry has changed over the decades and so have I. I am now an “Accredited Cruise Counselor", certified by Cruise Line Industry of America (CLIA) also not a requirement and completed the individual cruise lines training courses for: Cunard, *Cunard Commodore*, Princess Cruises, *Princess Commodore*, Royal Caribbean, *University of WOW*, Celebrity Cruises *Certified Cruise Specialist*, Holland America, *HAL Academy*, Disney, *Disney College of Knowledge*and Carnival, *Carnival Cruise Specialist* . It is something I have done personally to be up-to-date and to KEEP UP with the changes in the leisure travel industry. It's a juggling act that I thrive on!

 In 1981, a cruise vacation was an ultra luxury that only a select few could afford.  Today a cruise is more affordable then ever! Cruise fares have not increased with inflation over the years; they remain similar today to what they were back in 1981.   What has changed is the number of cruise line choices available, with each offering more ships and more cabins then ever before. The services of a highly-trained and experienced travel counselor like me are needed now more than ever.
