Ilok, the easternmost town in Croatia on the Danube River, may be small but it has a lot to offer. A well-preserved Franciscan monastery and a 15th century castle make it a popular day trip for domestic as well as foreign tourists. Its wine-making tradition is even older; some say the region's viniculture dates back as early as 280 AD.

Virginia is a state where past and present share the same ground. In places like Colonial Williamsburg, costumed interpreters walk the same streets once frequented by American revolutionaries, while nearby Jamestown and Yorktown complete what's known as the Historic Triangle. Though it's San Diego County's smallest city in both size and population, Del Mar is one of its most widely known due to prominence of its Del Mar Race Track & Fairgrounds. The City of Del Mar with about 2 square miles of land for its 5,211 residents, the city gives up almost one quarter to the fairgrounds. But its beaches stretch from Del Mar Shores Beach Park in the north edge of Torrey Pine State Reserve and the La Jolla Underwater Park in the south.

Nova Scotia covers an area of 21,425 sq. miles, and Halifax is the capital. This is an area rich in history — Gaelic is still spoken here in some areas by descendants of the early settlers. The city of Canakkale lies at the narrow, 1,200 meter entrance to the Canakkale Strait that connects the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean. To honor the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives at Gelibolu (Gallipoli), the peninsula was made into Gelibou Historical National Park.
