Located in northern Oman, Nakhal is best known for its impressive fort set dramatically against the backdrop of the Hajar Mountains. Originally built centuries ago and later expanded, the fort showcases traditional Omani architecture and offers sweeping views of the surrounding palm groves and rugged landscapes.

Nestling cozily beneath the legendary triad of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, Interlaken, 570 meters above sea level is a wondrous health resort and an international favorite. The superb mountainous scenery and gentle climate are ideal venues for virtually every leisure activity, all year round.

Opatija, located on Croatia’s Kvarner Bay, has been drawing visitors since the 19th century, when Austro-Hungarian aristocrats built grand villas along its Adriatic shoreline. Today, many of those same buildings still stand with some restored as luxury hotels and others preserved as cultural landmarks. The town’s most recognizable structure, Villa Angiolina, opened in 1844 and marked the start of Opatija’s rise as a fashionable seaside resort.

Situated on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula between a mountain range and the sea is the small town of Grundarfjordur, Iceland. Though certainly now the most well-known town on the peninsula, its nearby mountain Kirkjufell ("church mountain" in Icelandic) is perhaps Iceland's most famous.

The continent lying mainly within the Antarctic Cirle with the South Pole approximately at its center. The Antarctic Treaty of 1959, signed by 12 countries prohibits military activities and promotes the exchange of scientific information.
