Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, is a city that brims with cultural energy and layered history. Set against the backdrop of the Northern Range mountains and overlooking the Gulf of Paria, it has long been a hub of trade, migration, and creativity.

Durban is a big subtropical city in the north-eastern province of KwaZulu/Natal. It has been a major port since the 1850s and is home to the largest concentration of Indian-descended people in the country - Mohandas Gandhi arrived here as an indentured labourer in 1893. Today the city is better known as a holiday-makers' fun parlour with a happening nightlife.

Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, sits along the Brunei River and combines traditional charm with modern infrastructure. The city is known for its stunning Islamic architecture, including the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, with its golden dome and marble minarets reflecting in the surrounding water.

While an earthquake in 1972 left few buildings intact in downtown Managua, new areas are building up. Managua has excellent restaurants, nice hotels, and is a good base for day tours into the countryside.
